Can Sacro Occipital Technique Help Improve Childhood Scoliosis?
A case report by David Simmons, DC, describes one 11-year-old girl who was diagnosed with scoliosis by her pediatrician and later received Sacro Occipital Technique care. Her outcome was encouraging, but it also needs careful framing. A case report tells the story of one patient. It can raise useful questions and guide future research, but it does not prove that the same care will work for every child.

Major B. DeJarnette and the Origins of Sacro Occipital Technique
DeJarnette became known as the founder and developer of Sacro Occipital Technique, often called SOT. His work drew from three major areas of study: engineering, osteopathy, and chiropractic. That mix gave him an unusual way of looking at the body. He was interested not only in where pain appeared, but in how structure, motion, and physiology might relate to one another.
